Commaert, Jan Frans

(1699-1780)

   Born in Brussels, Jan Frans Commaert was a Dutch-language poet and playwright who wrote approximately 100 plays, of which 30 remain. A writer in the classical style, he enjoyed the support of the Austrian court.
